The Meeting of formators of the Indian Vice Province was organized on august 21 2015. The purpose of the meeting was to reflect, evaluate and plan the formation program for the current year. All the formators of the vice province attended the meeting. The meeting began with Fr Bobit leading the prayer and Fr. Reji welcoming everyone. At the start Fr. Baby in his introductory talk highlighted, saying the heart of the formation is reflected in the document ‘Potissimum Institutioni’ (Post-Synodal exhortation). He underlined the role of the community in the formation. Similarly he pointed out the four stages of formation namely the transformation stage (minor seminary to regency), Novitiate, Temporary Profession and Ongoing Formation. Further in the same way he shared the difficulties we face today due to modern culture and an impulsive drive for the same: which results in distortion of faith, values and inappropriate behaviour. The way forward is a renewed community living, commented Fr.Baby. That said we must pull our socks up to this tall order (renewed living) noted Fr. Baby as he ended his talk. The presentations by the formation communities followed, with Fr. Jaison introducing the general scenario of the formation in the vice province regarding the number of students and the various stages of formation they are in. Mananthawady formation community in their presentation provided a condensed idea of the programme with the strengths and potencies. In the same way they portrayed the challenges and difficulties they encountered in the programme.

Fr lijo presented a report on the Trichy formation community. The community comprises of 7 candidates with two priests to guide them. Fr. Lijo pointed out some of the strengths of the community together with their limitations. Jyothidarsan community, Nagpur presented a report in which Fr. Binu indicated the way community functioned. The community consists of 26 candidates together with 1 regent and two priests. In his report he mentioned the activities of the community particularly describing the program for the candidates and for the regent. The report also narrated some of the achievements and strengths of the community. Fr. Reji from st Camillus college Eluru presented a report on the formation programme there. The formation community has 26 scholastics doing their philosophy programme. The programme has been pretty satisfactory with a range of activities taking place on a regular basis. Fr jaison the master of the temporary professed and the superior of the Upasana community presented a report on the programme there. The community has 4 camillian confreres, 4 temporary professed religious and 2 postulants. The programme has been positive on every side except for some challenges which someway affects the formation. National vocation promoter Fr Bobit shared regarding the vocation promotion. In his sharing he pointed out finding new ways of recruiting vocations. One of the mentioned ways is to make different zone teams for better and enhanced recruitments. Another agenda in the meeting that happened was the releasing of the new minor seminary curriculum. The forum discussed on all the issues which were presented in the meeting and set forth some proposals too. The meeting came to a close with Fr Lijo proposing a vote of thanks.
