St:Camillus Seminary

History and Background

Camillians came to Trichy in 2000 with the intention of recruiting candidates from Tamil Nadu and of providing initial formation to them. The pioneers started to live in a rented house in Crawford in Trichy with two candidates. After staying in Crawford for a year they shifted their formation house to another rented house nearby Karumandapam with 11 candidates. In 2004 a plot was purchased and began the construction of the Seminary. In 2006 Pre-philosophy candidates were brought to the house here. In the same year we shifted our house to the newly constructed building in Enam Mathur – Trichy, about 24 km away from the city. Presently it is functioning as a centre for vocation promotion, and a minor seminary for the candidates from Tamil Nadu.

Providing initial formation for the candidates from Tamil Nadu to help them discern their vocation to Camillian religious life
