Snehatheeram, “Shore of Love”, started functioning in 2003 as a resource centre in Ernakulam, Kerala for PLHIV and their families; and in 2004, this was shifted to Aluva. This centre had been providing psychological, emotional and spiritual support, information about treatment options and been involving in HIV awareness campaigns to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, till it was formally opened as a 20-bedded community care centre for PLHIV, on October 4, 2007. This is a residence of the Camillian community at Mananthavady.
To provide comprehensive health care to the sick, especially people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.
To address the comprehensive needs of PLHIV, ensuring their dignity and overall quality of life by caring, motivating and rehabilitating them with the involvement of the community.
