Snehakiran (Ray of Love) is a partnering endeavour of Camillians and the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI). Snehakiran was originally an HIV/AIDS care project of Camillians at Eluru, which began in December 2004. Later, this project had to be stopped due to various reasons. When a decision was made regarding this partnership endeavour, the same name was given to it. This 65-bed Community Care Centre for PLHIV was opened on June 12, 2008. It is envisaged as a referral Centre for the Community Care Centers in Andhra Pradesh. Snehakiran was erected as a religious community in 2010. It focuses on counseling support to patients and their families, treatment of HIV-related opportunistic infections, palliative care for those in the end-stages of the illness and comprehensive community-based continuum of care.
To provide comprehensive healthcare for all with a preferential option for the people infected and affected with HIV/AIDS
To fill the gaps in the HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment scenario in India and become a voice of advocacy of the Church and its HIV/AIDS interventions by being a referral and nodal centre caring for PLHIV
